DETAIL: Walter Farmer was born in Nottingham and a largely self taught artist. Between 1897 and 1932 he exhibited frequently at the Nottingham Castle Museum as well as The Royal Academy London and the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. He was elected a member of the Nottingham Society Of Artists in 1980 and was its Vice President between 1914-1919. He frequently painted interior scenes with wonderful capture of light.
