DETAIL: William Garfit is an artist and illustrator specialising in sporting art. He trained at the Cambridge School of Art, Byam Shaw and the Royal Academy Schools. He always paints en plein air and frequently travels for his work, including to South America, Russia and the United States as well as all over Europe. Garfit has a longstanding association with the Rountree Tryon Gallery in London & Petworth Sussex, where he has held solo exhibitions since the 1970s. His paintings appear in some of the finest private collections in the UK.
