DETAIL: A good quality original painting by David Fowkes depicting Italian rooftops in Florence and dated 1993. Born in Eastbourne Sussex Fowkes studied at Reading University under Anthony Betts. He later taught at Winchester School Of Art and then for 30 years at the famous Grays School Of Art in Aberdeen. He retired to York and travelled to Italy regularly exhibiting his works at the NEAC, Michael Parkin Gallery, Abbot Hall Kendal, and Charlotte Lampard Gallery. The Scottish Arts Council, Aberdeen Art Gallery and HM The Queen & HRH Duke Of Edinburgh hold examples of his work in their collections.
