DETAIL: Anthony Devas was a society portrait painter elected to the Royal Society Of Portrait Painters. He studied at the Slade School Of Art and became a member of the Euston Road School. Devas held his fist major solo exhibition at the prestigious Agnews Gallery in 1941. He lived and worked at the Rossetti Studios in Chelsea and at one time shared studio space with the artist Norman Hepple. He died young having numerous heart conditions, at just 47 years old.
