DETAIL: David Denby studied at the Royal Academy Schools 1968-1971 where his tutors included Peter Blake, Patrick Caulfield, William Scott and Edward Bawden. He won the RA Portrait Prize in 1979 and has exhibited at the Chappel Galleries Essiex since 1989. Also exhibitied at the RA and the Fine Art Society London. Each work is painstakingly composed taking between 350-400 hours to produce in minute detail. Chappel Galleries continue to represent the artist where similarly sized works by Denby would be circa £8000.
