DETAIL: Painter and teacher, born in Edinburgh. She trained at Slade School of Fine Art. A French Government Scholarship enabled her to extend her studies, and a Churchill Fellowship in 1987 provided six months travelling and painting in Australia. Lectured at Liverpool and Wallasey Colleges of Art and then at Edinburgh College of Art, later moving to London. She said that her painting was “about the passage of life, how I react to situations and atmosphere”. Group exhibitions included Sheffield Open, Liverpool Academy, LG, National Trust and Fine Art Society, Edinburgh. Solo shows included Petter Potter, Haddington; Scottish Gallery, Edinburgh; and Camden Arts Centre, 1982. Was included in Scottish Art in the 20th Century at RWA, 1991. Won second prize, Hunting Art Prizes, 2000.
