DETAIL: Kenneth Roberts was a painter and teacher, born in Applegate, Arbroath, Angus, noted for his depictions of that area, who studied at Dundee College of Art, 1950, under Alberto Morrocco. After National Service he taught 1958–93, being principal teacher of art at Harris Academy, Dundee, from 1973. In The Scotsman, Duncan Macmillan termed Roberts “the supreme painter of the Scottish winter… one of the finest landscape painters of his time.” Roberts showed regularly at the Royal Society of Arts and Dundee Art Society and was given a first show in Edinburgh in 1998 at Bourne Fine Art.
