DETAIL: Oscar Goodall RSW was born in Australia and grew up in Scotland. After war service he studied at the Dundee College of Art, followed by a scholarship at Hospitalfield House, Arbroath. He taught in various Fife colleges, was a lecturer at the Scottish Arts Council, and was a joint founder of the Dollar Summer School. Working in oils and pastels, his subjects display an ethereal quality, constructed around his central preoccupation with light and shape.
