DETAIL: Elmes studied at Regent St Polytechnic School Of Art from 1950 to 1954. He then took a flat in Victoria London and became friends with the sculptor Laurence Broderick and artist Peter Kent- all of whom socialised in the vibrant community of The Troubadour Coffee House in Earls Court London which was one of the centres of intellectual and artistic life in the 50’s and 60’s. He exhibited at the Royal Academy London, Maill Galleries, ROI, Park Lane Fine Arts, Piers Freetham Gallery, Barnes Art Gallery, Alton Gallery and The New Grafton Gallery among others.
