DETAIL : Painter of architectural and landscape subjects, born in 1893 to the historian J E C Bodley. He studied in Paris, where he died, and was wounded during World War I service in Belgium. Showed at Leicester and Beaux Arts Galleries, at Manchester City Art Gallery and in Paris. Manchester holds his Landscape, oil on canvas, of 1941. His paintings are defined by his experiences as a soldier in WW1 and are held in museums across Europe and the USA. Later died in 1974 in Paris.
